Rock frontman and wife divorce weeks after he comes out as gay

Caleb Shomo, the 33-year-old frontman of metalcore band Beartooth, and his wife Fleur Shomo have filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, according to Page Six. The filing comes nearly two months after the musician publicly announced he is gay.

The couple married in April 2012 and do not have children. On May 23, Shomo shared an Instagram post declaring himself “a proudly gay man.”

Fleur Shomo publicly responded to her husband’s announcement by stating she would “love and support” him and encouraged his fans to do the same. She acknowledged feeling “hurt” and “disoriented” by the news.

The musician had hinted at his personal journey in February with the release of the Beartooth song “Free,” which includes the lyrics, “There’s nobody else I’d rather be, so what the f–k is stopping me?” Shomo described the track as “the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make” and said it marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life and music.
